Shiva - A Figurative Sculpture
Explore the inspiration and process behind this piece.
Shiva draws from the Hindu deity of destruction and transformation — reimagined as a large-scale figurative sculpture built entirely from reclaimed e-waste, found objects, and reclaimed materials. Hand-assembled by Gabriel Dishaw, Shiva represents the intersection of ancient mythology and modern sustainability, using what others discard to create something powerful and enduring. Shiva embodies the dual forces of creation and destruction, balance and transformation. Constructed from upcycled and found materials, this figurative sculpture draws inspiration from the Hindu deity known as “The Auspicious One,” reinterpreting spiritual symbolism through contemporary design. The piece reflects my continued exploration of form, sustainability, and meaning—transforming discarded materials into a meditative study of equilibrium and renewal.
