Upcycled Shoe Sculpture Modeled after the Yeezy 750 Boost
Explore the inspiration and process behind this piece.
The Adidas Yeezy 750 Boost launched in February 2015 and sold out within ten minutes. It was the opening act of one of the most disruptive collaborations in sneaker history — Kanye West and Adidas rewriting the rules of hype, scarcity, and cultural value in footwear. Digital Yeezy 750 Boost was completed in March 2016, rebuilding the iconic silhouette from circuit boards, data cables, leather, and braided steel wire — the Yeezy's distinctive strapped upper finding its natural counterpart in the woven electronics vocabulary of e-waste sculpture.
A commentary on objects we chase, the technology we discard, and what happens when the two collide.
