Rearing Horse - Figurative Sculpture
Explore the inspiration and process behind this piece.
Rearing Horse began with a pile of adding machine parts. Gabriel was taking apart an adding machine when he looked at the components scattered on the workbench and saw a horse's head in them. The rest followed from there — the same rearing posture that has defined equestrian sculpture from ancient bronzes to Bernini, now assembled from the mechanical innards of an office machine.
